Functions

Everyday functions are apart of our daily lives. Whether we are using them for math, for recording grades. or we are just drawing simple shapes.

Every functions has coordinate pairs. These pairs are used to place different points on to coordinate plane. In which the pairs consist of x and y coordinates. The x coordinate fluctuate from left to right. the y coordinates fluctuate from bottom to top. Each pair label (x,y) and used to place the the corresponding coordinates with each labeled number. For example the pair (4,5) would be placed on the number 4, x line and placed where the y coordinate 5 line intersects.

Here is a video for graphing functions.

For beginning to learn how to graph functions use this video.
I found that this website was very helpful. http://www.justmathtutoring.com/

  1. After I read the beginning of this post, I thought about how we do graph functions everyday without thinking about the fact that it can be considered a function. Some of the lines we draw on our papers could be a function. It's just on an invisible coordinate plane.

  2. I like the video that shows how to draw different graphs. It shows that whether your using f(x) or h(x) they could mean the same thing and it also give very good examples, starting with the easiest first. Oh and the music really enjoyed the music!

  3. This video was very helpful. Graphing functions can be confusing but it was a great way to show f(x) and h(x). This made me realize how often we use functions and do not realize it at all.
